Human beings are so constituted, aparently, that if they are forced by circumstance to spend 23+ hours a day in one apartment for a month they go a bit loopy. If this happens in the middle of summer and said human can see the outside all day and watches people enjoying the weather from a big window you can upgrade "loopy" to "full-blown insanity". Now multiply that by three.

But you can't argue with results.

Nick Diamonds, Mark Lawson, and myself are today wraping up recording on what promises to be the greatest record you've ever heard. I'm serious.

We recorded the bed tracks at a "real" studio to tape and then, as per our plan, moved shop to my place where we have been finishing off for weeks. This was a good idea because it saves money, and it lets us work at our own pace. It lets us cook and eat food here instead of going to restaurants all the time. It was a bad idea from my perspective because after a 12+ hour day of working in my apartment, I go to sleep in my apartment, wake up in my apartment, make breakfast and shower in my aparment and wait for everybody to show up to start working again, in my apartment. I've been making sure I go for walks after we finish to at least get out for a little while, and I'm lucky enough to live next to mount-royal so I can disapear up into the forested part of the mountain and decompress somewhat. Forty minutes at night doesn't quite make up for the whole day spent inside though.

Today is, however, the last recording day.

We are very close to done adding tracks to this record, it's almost time to start editing and mixing. Mark gets the fun task of editing, and then we go to another studio to mix so I will finally be able to get out of this prison.

Half a summer isn't too bad I guess.
